Withdraw Mondays & Tuesdays Only

March 1, 2008

For those who make a little living online and get paid through Paypal like me, if you want your money to appear on your bank account sooner than the standard 5-7 business days like what Paypal says, withdraw money only on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This is an observation I made after a few withdrawals from Paypal. Everytime I withdraw money on Mondays, it gets cleared the same day and the withdrawn money appears on my Unionbank EON card account Wednesday in about the same time. It takes the same time if you make a withdrawal on Tuesdays. The money will get to your bank account Thursdays.

Make a withdrawal on Wednesday but don’t expect it till Monday next week. Such was the mistake I made the last time. I made a withdrawal last Wednesday morning expecting the money Friday morning but no dice. Oh well, that’s just life. Good thing I’ve got other sources of income. LOL

What’s wrong with Paypal now?

February 8, 2008

I’ve been waiting for a $300 deposit from Paypal since last Saturday and I’ve seen squat since. i was ready to send them a complaint today but a few minutes ago I received an email from them telling me there’s a little technical issue they’re trying to resolve at the moment causing the delay.

Shucks! How big is that technical issue that may cause a week’s delay? C’mon! Paypal is a leader in their industry and they should do better than this. This is the first time I’ve had trouble with Paypal since getting verified. Withdrawals, in fact, only took 3 business days rather than 5-7 days that they say is the normal duration.

Anybody have the same problem?

How You Can Encash Your Blog Earning Through Paypal? Use The Unionbank EON card

December 25, 2007
For us bloggers who have been in the business of professional blogging, we can sign-up for a Unionbank EON Cyberaccount and transfer our hard-earned dollars from our Paypal account to this debit card!

More information about the EON Cyberaccount is available here. This is the only debit card guaranteed by the bank provider to work with Paypal. Check out the Unionbank intructions on how to use Paypal with an Eon Cyberaccount. Getting an EON Cyberaccount is so easy that anybody can do it online without visiting a Unionbank branch. You will still have to pick-up the debit card though 5 days after enrolling. Pay 350 pesos for the card itself and add as little as 100 pesos as initial funds which you will need to verify your Cyberaccount with Paypal.

The whole thing takes a few days to get done but at least it eliminates the guesswork of which cards work with Paypal in the Philippines. I’ve applied already and I’ll be reaping the fruits of my hard work online soon!

The Day The Great Problogger Darren Rowse Wrote Me Back

December 20, 2007

Check out an email conversation I had with the great Darren Rowse of Problogger.net. I sent an email not expecting a reply but I was surprised to get one from Darren himself a few hours later. Check out our conversation!

Hi Darren,

I’m not even sure if you’re even gonna pay attention to this question or if
this question has been answered already but here it goes:

Don’t you think it’s kinda hypocritical to actually encourage your readers to
sign up for these websites like linkworth or widgetbucks by displaying their ad
on your problogger blog without you having to actually use it on your blog? I’m
not too sure if I can call it ironic or a hypocrisy.

I’d be happy to find out what you think about this because I noticed you
display a lot of sponsor ads on your side bar but you do not actually have a
widgetbucks widget nor do I see you participate in linkworth.

His reply:

Hi good question.

Couple of things.

1. These are ads and I don’t think I need to try them all to accept them. Most advertising in newspapers, tv, radio wouldn’t be tested by the publishers before being accepted. I don’t accept ads that I find offensive or against my beliefs – but I don’t mind other things as long as they are on topic.

2. They are clearly labled as sponsors – not endorsements

3. I have tried WidgetBucks and have written about it quite a few times on ProBlogger. I don’t use it on ProBlogger itself as it doesn’t work on that type of blog but it’s a good system for other types of blogs (product related).

4. I see on your blog you’ve got ads for ING Car Insurance, GIO insurance (AdSense), 10 or so cell phones and about 14 make money online affiliates. have you tried them all? I’m pressuming you have with some of them – but doesn’t the same sort of thing apply when you run AdSense on your blog and have little control over the ads that appear?

hope something in that is helpful in answering your question

Darren

Here’s my reply:

Thanks for the quick response Darren. Honestly I never expected an answer back. Nevertheless, you’re answer was enlightening. About the Google Ads, It’s something I haven’t figured out how to control what ads are displayed on my blog or maybe I’m just too lazy to do something about it to make those ads relevant to my blog. The cellphone ads from widget bucks are there because my audience are mostly Filipinos like myself. I figured Filipinos are crazy about cellphones and it might give me a better click-through rate for the widget. It’s just another experiment I’m trying out to see what works. I’ve have the widgetbucks widget for only a week so I might have it for a little longer to figure it out. For the make money affiliates, the answer is yes! You’d be surprised to find out that I’ve really tried them all at this point at one time. Some of them, I’ve figured are not working as promoted so I just decided to keep their referral program on my blog instead.

Thanks again Darren. I never really expected the great Darren Rowse to reply to my small query that fast or at all. It has been great reading your blog every now and then but I guess you hear that all the time. I love your blog!

BTW, I’d love to get one of your problogger t-shirts for myself but I wished the site had an option to pay by paypal. Don’t you think it’ll be a good thing to have a paypal option?

I haven’t had a feedback after but I don’t expect any anymore.

My discoveries in linking strategy

November 4, 2007

If you have a blog that you want to make popular for whatever reason, building and seeding links to other websites is a major task you should know. For my 2 blogs, I have almost “turned every rock upside down” to make sure other sites will be linking to them. Making other websites linking to your blog is very important because of several things:

1. It can drive traffic to your blog.
2. An inbound link from a high Pagerank website can dramatically improve or give you an awesome PR.
3. It will give your blog more link popularity.

If bloggers really want to see “results” for their blogs whether monetizing it or gain more readership, “seeding” their links in other websites is very essential. It can gain you more regular readers, subscribers and maybe fans later! 😀

To make the most of “seeding” your links and get the results that you want. You have to make sure you “seed” it in high PR pages. It is not necessary for bloggers to “seed” their link on every chance they get. I’ll share with you an experience. When I started my Olympic blog early August 2007, I went all out in putting my links in whatever website I can find. I did this because I wanted to get a high PR when Google updates the pagerank. Little did I know I might have been doing my blog more bad than good. I was fairly successful in building my link popularity but I found out that the I could have gotten a better PR if I picked the place to “seed” my link. In “seeding” links, there are two almost opposite goals you may end up with. If you choose to seed your link in as many website’s as possible, you probably will end up with more traffic. But if you choose to seed your link to only high PR pages, you may only get very few traffic from it BUT it raises your chances of getting a high PR on the next PR update. Let me cite an equation to make things a little bit clearer:

If you “seed” you links to high PR websites only the likelihood will be this:

PR5 + PR4 + PR6 + PR5 + PR4 + PR5 = probability is that you’re blog is going to get a high PR next time. This is because only high PR websites link to you.

PR0 + PR0 + PR5 + PR2 + PR0 +PR4 = ( if you multiply this equation a hundred times ) probability is that you may get the traffic you want but since a lot of PR zero’s are linking to you, this may not give you a good pagerank.

The smarter way of linking is making sure you seed your link in high PR pages. I’m not just talking about the homepage but the actual page you’re going to put your link in. For those who will be serious in getting their blog popular or at least get some more exposure here’s some advice on how you can get started:

1. Get the Firefox with Google Toolbar on the right column. The Google tool bar has a pagerank checker which displays the PR of any website you are viewing. This will give you a quick look and assessment if the website is worthy seeding your link to.

2. Check your blog’s backlinks to see which websites to see which websites or blogs are already linking to you.I recommend using iwebtool’s back link checker.

3. Contact blogger’s with similar niche as your blog to see if they would want to exchange links with you. Usually, I do this by commenting on their blogs and asking if they want to exchange links.

4. The best places to seed your link to are those blogs hosted by new organizations like BBC. I have a valuable backlink from BBC because I made a comment on a high participation discussion in one of the blogs there. You can also seed your link in high particpation threads in forums. The key word here is “high-participation”.

I hope I’ve shared some valuable information to help you out in your blogging. If you like this post and blog, please consider bookmarking this page so you would remember the address quickly if you want to come back. You may also enter your email address above to subscribe to emailed updates from this blog. Please check out my Olympics blog if you have time. Thank you much!

My blog is worth $4,516.32 in just 52 days

August 16, 2007

Myblog is worth $4,516.32.
How much is your blog worth?

This is some serious stuff. I didn’t know I can make so much money on the internet in 52 days just by blogging. This is no BS. There a formula by created by Technorati that computes how much your blog is worth based on how many backlinks you have. a backlink is simply your link published on other websites or blogs. There are a number of ways one can build backlinks. For those who have blogs already click on the image above to find out how much is yours worth. For those who don’t you can still find out how much a popular website is worth by clicking the image too.

So now you’re blog is that much… So what you may ask? We’ll I can sell it… There have been instances where some people would want to buy blogs from other people because of business reasons. Think in the line of Google buying Youtube not far back. Ofcourse, since my blog is hosted in blogspot.com, technically I can’t sell it due to restrictions in the User agreement contract. But when I do get my own hosting & domain, I will definitely go all out in building backlinks to see just maybe in the future I can go ahead & sell it for whatever reason I may have at that time.

With that said, I can’t say enough about encouraging call center people to go ahead and make your own blog. Start with free blogging sites like blogspot.com. While you are just starting, you can publish ads like adsense and build enough money doing that to buy your own domain & hosting. If you decide to do so, you can just redirect you’re viewers to your new one & start building backlinks again. as you blog ages & it’s popularity increases you can start thinking about what to do with it. You can always actively sell your blog too if want. There’s a site/forum that you can offer to sell it.

Call Center People… Earn Extra Money From Blogging

August 12, 2007

Ok. I have to admit, I got into blogging because of 2 things. Number 1 is to help callcenter people through sharing my knowledge & help them get the jobs they like. Number 2 & is to earn money while doing it. I got the idea from a co-worker, a professional blogger, who has made blogging a great source of income. He has been blogging since 2005 & has earned a decent amount of dollars through this online business.

For those who don’t have any idea how this all works out, read carefully this could be your chance to join the biggest online rave hitting the Philippines. Blogging is really easy. For starters, it’s FREE. You don’t have to shell out money to do this. You can simply blog for 30 minutes-1hour a day at home or while at work as long as your online. This is a great opportunity for call center agents because they are online at work for 8 hours per day. although this maybe a small problem if your callcenter is very restrictive in internet browsing. Nevertheless, it still is a great untapped resource.

How do you earn? By posting ads on your blog, you earn small amounts as people visiting your blog click on the ads you posted. as those small amounts accumulate, they become serious money and if you have accumulated the minimum encashable amount you can have the Dollars ( check ) mailed to you or paid to your Paypal account or wired to your local savings bank account. If you like you can also be paid in local currency ( for the Philippines it is Pesos ). What’s good about it is you don’t have to pay anything to start blogging and start earning. The only investment you will be doing is time in designing, optimizing & marketing your blog which you can do while you’re sitting in your workstation waiting for a call or avail time.

There have been people with good ideas that are earning serious money through blogging.
The gurus in earning through blogging are: John Chow, Joel Comm & there’s a lot more. Check out John Chow’s blog for the biggest earner’s through google adsense:
